Maybe so. When I wrote the piece a year ago, the US had less than 100 cases and a single death. Now the US reports 30 million cases and over half a million deaths. Many factors contribute, obviously, but a lack of social safety net meant that many Americans ignored symptoms, had to continue to go to work, and never were able to seek medical care until they had to hit the emergency room. I do have an agenda. My agenda is I believe we can do better, and I think doing so will have social benefits which will even improve quality of life for the wealthiest. My two cents. What’s yours?
