I appreciate the spirit (ahem) of your post. The only thing I’d object to, however, is the disdain for the 31 day starting point. Like when a health expert suggests one should be active 5 days a week, it turns off so many as being out of reach, when in fact 2 days a week is infinitely better than 0. I believe supporting awareness and trial through Dry January (along with the social support of being part of a larger group) destigmatizes becoming sober curious. For sure 90 days is better for the reasons you outline, but let’s not take away from the breakthrough people experience in going sober for 31 days and untold temptations and triggers. My two cents.
