Hi McKenna. What I mean here is that when we have conference calls, and all are on video (gallery view mode) and one or two are on audio only, they tend to participate less in the call. When I say “hide and check out” I mean that it becomes easier for them to detach from the group, from the call, from the content and not contribute. It permits non-active listening. By “check out” I mean emotionally and psychologically… just waiting for the call to be over. This risks becoming unhealthy for the person themselves as well as for the group dynamic. Best that all are on video or all on audio-only, in my view.
