Fully agree. So much drama and effort to calibrate to get these incentives right - and so many landmines in getting them wrong. Same with M&A earnouts. Sales quotas are fine, but bonus targets for non-sales personnel can be rotated into base pay or long term incentives (equity).

Bonus Plans: I have learned to hate them and wish they didn’t exist. This is particularly true for two reasons:
